Manuscript Evaluator (Published April 7)
I have written a manuscript titled Óf Mi’Kmaq Heritage in Rural Maine.” I included growing up as white in rural Maine and wondering why many of my cousins looked like Indians. Later on I learned more about my Great Grandmother. I wonder if this manuscript could/should be published. If requested I will forward the complete manuscript that could be read in a couple of hours.
The Thompson family:
A search for my family’s Indian heritage that known history and family tells us began with two Indian sisters marrying two Thompson brothers. Records show Peter Thomson and Marie Jolie Le Goff were the parents of William Thomson (h. to Leocade Bois), and Ludger Elijah Thompson (h. to Lucy Morneau). So Leocade and Lucy appear to be sisters-in-law, not sisters as family told us?
Family members and Glenn Starbird, prior Indian Agent in Old Town Maine, tells us Lucille Bois, referred to as Lucy Wood, was a Mi’Kmaq princess, medicine woman, mid-wife, and sister to Lacade Bois, wife of William, Elijah’s brother. He told us that Lucy Bois met Elijah at Eagle Lake so questions regarding the following records of my Great Grandfather’s Elijah’s marriage to Lucy Morneau occur because Lucy Morneau was not Indian. The pictures, personal belongings, and family confirm Lucy Bois married my Great Grandfather Elijah and she was definitely Indian. Many family members are undeniably Indian. Did Lucy change her last name?
Records indicate Lucy Morneau was born on 26 Oct 1822, in St. John, Quebec, Canada. Her parents were Marie Josephete Caouette and Michel Morneau, married 26 Sep 1820 in St. Jean Port Joli, Canada. Records show Lucy Morneau married Ludger (Elijah) Thompson on 29 Jul 1850 in Cacouna, Quebec Canada. They had 5 children.
Leocade Bois was born 28 Feb 1828 in Kamouraska, Quebec. Her parents were Joseph Bois and Marie Medard. She married William Thomson on 29 Oct 1849 in Tadoussac, Quebec.
Headstones in Macwahoc cemetery for both Elijah and Lucy and William and Leocade are side by side. Elijah and Lucy’s tombstone and flowers were missing on Friday morning August 15, 2025. On August 17th the tombstone had been cleaned, then reinstalled and the flowers were again placed. William and Lacade’s tombstone was cleaned and still sits atop a crumbling base. Lincoln and Bangor memorials nor any known family member did the work.
My search continues to learn the absolute truth of this Indian woman that was my great grandmother.
Regards,
David Thompson

Editor (Published March 19)
Seeking an Editor / Copy Editor to review, read, correct, amend, insert, add and structure a non fiction novel of approximately 85,000 words +/-, with 100% True Happenings. The novel has been written, except the last chapter, which will include the present status of the parties detailed in the book. In the section of insert and add, that is the part that I ask for the Editor to insert. The writer is an International Financier, and lacks the capability to write the loving relationship between a Major Caribbean Resort Owner and a N.Y. Guest of the Resort. Without disclosure to the Resort Owner, the N.Y. Guest was married and the wife of a Capo (Captain / Lieutenant) or a Major N.Y. Mafia Crime Family. Of course, all happenings thereafter went downhill.
There are other complications to complete the novel:
1) The Toronto Bank Executives are probably still with the Bank.
2) The N.Y. Mafia Crime Family remains in operation.
3) The Resort Owner’s Family may strongly oppose the release of this novel.
4) The Caribbean Island Government may also oppose the release of this novel.
5) The Caribbean Lawyers involved are still at their Law Offices.
The Novel is called “Papiamento Assignment”
The writer would like to place a 6 month window for completion. Please provide pricing on a monthly or quarterly basis.
